CEO, Sea World
Vasilis Tsigaras was born on Karditsomagoula, Karditsa, in 1971. In 1986 he had his first experience with frozen food, as employer on a frozen food retail store, and in 1992 he started trading frozen food as a freelancer. In 1992 he established Sea world S.A. and two years later the company’s plant was built. Sea world’s purpose was the processing, packaging and commercing of fresh and frozen seafood. As the Chief Executive Officer of the company, Sea world developed a retail chain of frozen seafood stores with the name “Θαλάσσιος κόσμος seafood” (it stands for Sea world in Greek) and fresh fish stores with the name “Ιχθυόσκαλα” (it stands for Fish market in Greek) in 17 prefectures of Greece. He did Secretary-General and Vice President in “ΠΑΣΕΚΤ”, the Panhellenic Association of Frozen Food Businesses, from 2011 until 2015. In 2013 he invented an innovative way of cooking meals in a pot made of parchment paper. This innovation created a Sea world’s product, the Seafood meals in parchment paper. Vasilis got a patent in 2016 for that innovative way of cooking from the Hellenic Industrial Property Organisation. Today he is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Sea world S.A.
